Old clubs, new grips
· Luis Medeiros
People bring in a bag of clubs they inherited and ask whether they are worth anything. Usually they are worth the cost of regripping them, which is not a small thing.
A new grip changes how a club feels. It changes how you hold it and how tightly. A set that felt dead can come back to life with new rubber.
What to expect
We check the shaft, the head and the ferrule. If any of those is badly damaged, we say so. Otherwise a regrip, a clean and a lie check are the best first spending.
