Ashby and company
A short history, kept by the person who remembers most of it.
1988
Gerald Pruitt took a second-floor room on Highland Street, put in a bench and a vise, and hung a sign that said Swing Shop. The first customer asked for a grip and was turned away because the glue had not arrived.
The long middle
The shop learned to fit clubs in the nineties, when Gerald began watching what his customers' clubs were doing at impact. Nadia Okafor arrived in 2014 and brought the monitor.
Now
Four people, two stools, one net, and a coffee pot that has outlasted three vice presidents of marketing at the building next door.
